Brad Pitt's brand collaborated with Yohji Yamamoto
For two 2800$ cashmere shirts
May 28th, 2024
Every year, there are many collaborations that come as a surprise, but this one is more surprising than all. Two icons from very different fields, Brad Pitt and Yohji Yamamoto, have announced a collaboration, so to speak, indirect, namely between God’s True Cashmere, the brand that Pitt founded together with jewelry designer and spiritual guru Sat Hari, and the Wildside line of Yamamoto's brand dedicated precisely as a collaborative "workshop" releasing limited edition capsules with brands that re-imagine the codes of the legendary Japanese designer. The result is a mini-capsule of two cashmere shirts that blend American country aesthetics with dark and deconstructivist touches typical of Yohji Yamamoto.
The first shirt, more fitted, is a reinterpretation of God’s True Cashmere patterns, and reproduces the design of a classic rodeo shirt in two colors, burgundy and black, adorned with 11 semi-precious stone buttons (in this case sunstone or heliolite) strategically positioned to align with the wearer's seven chakras – one of the signatures of God’s True Cashmere, which adorns all of its products with jewel buttons. The second shirt, which has a looser fit, is constructed with various black panels or covered in a checkered pattern. Both shirts are entirely made in Italy and have been produced in limited edition – which also justifies their not-so-low price of $2800.
The new collaboration between God’s True Cashmere and Wildside Yohji Yamamoto is available exclusively at the main Wildside Yohji Yamamoto stores in Tokyo and online, as well as Just One Eye in Los Angeles.
