Gucci's new sneaker is a work of art
Produced in a limited edition of only twenty pieces
April 11th, 2024
Milano Design Week is preparing to welcome an exclusive preview that embodies the encounter between artisanal tradition and technological innovation: Gucci Cub3d Sneakers in limited edition. Designed to represent a new interpretation of Gucci's design philosophy where the brand's heritage is condensed, the new sneaker celebrates the brand's incessant spirit of innovation, combining luxury aesthetics with cutting-edge materials and processes. But these are not just simple sneakers; they are true collectible pieces. The Gucci Cub3d lineup has been produced in a limited edition of twenty pairs, each of which is a numbered unique work from 1 to 20 and presented in a special custom-made package. The exclusivity of these sneakers will be unveiled in advance at Gucci's flagship store in Via Monte Napoleone during Milan Design Week, an unmissable event for fashion and design enthusiasts.
With their sculptural forms and 3D midsole reminiscent of a beehive, Gucci Cub3d sneakers are born as wearable artwork: their sole, produced with the selective laser sintering (SLS) technique, features a lattice structure inspired by the polyhedron that not only fascinates with its geometric beauty but also provides optimal lightness and resistance. But the real innovation lies in the sneaker's upper. Here comes into play Demetra, the innovative material from Gucci composed of 70% plant-based raw materials, mainly from renewable sources, which combines softness, longevity, and high-level performance. Not only is the upper of Gucci Cub3d made of Demetra, but other materials used have also been carefully selected for their sustainable impact on the environment. 100% recycled polyester and leather from metal- and chromium-free tanning processes testify to Gucci's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The new limited edition Gucci Cub3d sneaker will be available at the Gucci boutique in Milan starting from April 16th.
