Girls love Cecilie Bahnsen. Alongside Simone Rocha and Sandy Liang, she encouraged us to fully embrace our femininity, breaking free from the male gaze, with an extra dose of frills and milky tones. A key player in the coquette-core trend, one of the highlights of 2024 according to Pinterest, the designer has recently pushed the boundaries of her comfort zone. Yesterday, at the Palais de Tokyo, she unveiled her Fall-Winter 2024 collection, titled The Bite. Explaining her inspiration, she shared: «The idea of 'The Bite' is akin to leaving behind a bit of innocence, a concept that resonated surprisingly with relevance in this particular season.»
The ensemble embodies a new expression of Cecilie Bahnsen's artistic vision, exploring the surprising fusion of textures, cuts, and colors. Out with the 100% lace and transparency, next winter focuses on long-sleeved pieces and outerwear. The collection features a variety of materials, including denim, canvas trenches and jackets, twisted pullovers, as well as leather pieces, a novelty in her repertoire. The color range transforms throughout the 29 looks, in harmony with the imposing installation of an apple placed at the center of the runway. Starting with all-black outfits and transitioning to shades of white, gray, indigo denim, navy, sand, autumnal browns, silver, and shiny textures. Aged black leather ensembles, with gathered and flared skirts, add a touch of sensuality, while bolder pieces, like a silver bustier dress made from cut aluminum foil flowers, showcase Bahnsen's limitless creativity.
On the accessories front, assertive boots developed in collaboration with Ecco Leather and in partnership with the Diemme footwear brand were accompanied by a new chapter in her ongoing collaboration with Asics. These elements perfectly complemented the outfits, infused with the brand's unique aesthetic. With this collection, Cecilie Bahnsen has demonstrated her ability to reinvent herself and broaden her horizons, all while maintaining the romantic and airy essence that defines her work.
