Time traveling with VAILLANT

For its seventh collection, VAILLANT invited us to the top floor of the Centre Pompidou. After all, why change a formula that has already proven great before? In this exceptionally bright environment, from the first notes of music, guests were immediately charmed by the Fall-Winter 2024 collection of Alice Vaillant's eponymous brand. Since 2019, she has captured the attention of the fashion sphere with her deconstructed hybrid wardrobe, offering a diverse vision of femininity. Quickly, her sensual, eco-friendly creations, inspired by her past as a ballerina, spread across social media. Among her iconic pieces, the asymmetrical tops in upcycled Calais lace have left a lasting impression. This season the designer has continued her exploration of movement and contemporary femininity, relying on the established codes of her brand. The inspiration ? Man Ray and his play of light and shadow, translated into technical yet wearable pieces that highlight the body, with a thoughtful use of colors and textures to evoke an emotional connection. Likewise, each look embodies the spirit of the golden age of Studio 54.

Imagine the wardrobe of a businesswoman by day and a dancing queen by night. The color palette unfolds from black to red, passing through blue (cerulean?), and gold. The iconic pieces of the collection offer a wide range of styles and textures. Afghan coats are offered in classic or blood-red leather versions. Wool coats, true embodiments of timeless elegance, stand out with refined cuts and carefully crafted details. Transparent blouses subtly juxtapose sensuality and elegance. Slip dresses, a must-have for the brand, are characterised by refined simplicity. Fur or asymmetrical train skirts add a dynamic touch to the collection. Meanwhile, sequined evening dresses stand out as masterpieces, with each sequin dancing with the light to create a true work of art in motion. The VAILLANT woman refuses to be defined by her accessories. During the day, she equips herself with an XL tote, but in the evening, she lets her clothes speak for themselves. To not divert attention from her outfit, she also complements her looks with stiletto sandals or knee-high boots crafted from wool socks with a gaiter effect. Needless to say, we are ardent supporters of the brand, which, with this collection, has succeeded in making us nostalgic for an era we haven't even experienced.
