It's called "On Thin Ice," and the first episode is already online
February 27th, 2024
The Bally Peak Outlook Foundation has announced its support for the new podcast "On Thin Ice", which explores the challenges and solutions related to climate change. Conducted and produced by journalist Paolo Bosonin, the initiative aims to engage influential guests and innovators to address the challenges of global warming, offering an in-depth analysis of the climate debate and exploring practical solutions to create a more sustainable future. In the first episode, listeners will hear from Alex Honnold, free solo climber, and Nanna Baldvinsdottir, Icelandic energy entrepreneur.
With climate change threatening mountain habitats worldwide, the Bally Peak Outlook Foundation is committed to protecting mountain habitats from excessive climate change and unsustainable tourism. Through initiatives like the "Carry Me Back" program in collaboration with the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC), the Foundation works to reduce the environmental impact of tourism on Everest and surrounding valleys. Founded in 2020 with the goal of cleaning up Mount Everest and raising awareness about environmental issues, the Foundation has already removed over 7.6 tons of waste from the Himalayas. Additionally, it supports projects like building flood barriers in Pheriche and providing scholarships to Sherpa students through the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Foundation.
