Roy Roger’s, the pioneering Italian jeans brand, announced today its collaboration with Dave’s New York, the renowned multi-brand store representing the number one location for workwear in the Big Apple. For Roy Roger’s, a brand with a rich history dating back to 1952, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in its journey. Born from a partnership with Cone Mills Corporation of New York, Roy Roger’s brought the American dream to Italy, pioneering the production of blue jeans in Italian denim. Today, the brand continues to uphold its values of honor, tradition, and respect while embracing innovation in materials and techniques. Similarly, Dave’s New York has a legendary history dating back to 1963 when Dave, the patriarch of the family, opened Dave’s Army & Navy in Manhattan's Garment District. Over the years, the store has become a hub for durable workwear, serving construction workers and garment factory employees. Now under the guidance of the second and third generations, Dave’s New York remains committed to providing high-quality products and now possesses a united and devoted community.
The collection, which will have the dual name of Roy Roger’s x Dave’s New York, includes 25 garments designed for everyday wear without gender distinctions. From classic work pants made in denim, canvas, jacquard, and tie-dye variations to versatile work jackets available in indigo denim and a range of innovative finishes, each piece reflects a fusion of heritage and innovation. Additionally, vintage prints inspired by the archives of both brands adorn the t-shirts, while cotton crew-necks add a contemporary touch to the collection. Guido Biondi, Creative Director of Roy Roger’s, emphasized the importance of shared values, stating: "What is essential for us is a natural affinity with the partner." The collaboration between Roy Roger’s and Dave’s New York represents a union of two worlds deeply rooted in workwear heritage. Biondi highlights the significance of this partnership, describing it as a mix of "vintage of the future," where tradition meets contemporary urban style. And even Adam Levy, owner of Dave’s New York, reiterated this sentiment, emphasizing the shared commitment to the quality of their end products: "Guido and his team have really gone back to their roots with this collaboration, and we are happy to contribute our perspective on timeless classics of workwear."
