After the tragic loss of Davide Renne, Moschino announced that Adrian Appiolaza will be the new creative director. Appiolaza brings an impressive background to Moschino, previously serving as the women's ready-to-wear creative director at Loewe, collaborating with Jonathan Anderson, and earlier at Chloé with Phoebe Philo and later Clare Waight Keller. Appiolaza's first collection for Moschino will debut during the upcoming Milan Fashion Week on February 22 at the Museo della Permanente – a location that hosted the exhibition Moschino – X anni di Kaos! 1983-1993 in 1993, celebrating the brand's first decade founded by Franco Moschino.

Adrian Appiolaza, in turn, expressed his respect for Moschino's heritage, stating that his goal will be to focus on the extensive brand archive, being a collector himself of archival pieces, including Moschino, Margiela, and Helmut Lang. The designer shared details about his life, acknowledging the influence of his grandmother, who ran a tailor shop in Buenos Aires where he spent his adolescence. His journey took a turn towards the center of his life through a passion for English music, eventually leading him to study at Central Saint Martins and work with renowned designers like Alexander McQueen, Miguel Adrover, and Phoebe Philo. Throughout his career, he also held roles in the design teams of Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton – further emphasizing the trend of design directors being promoted to creative directors, remaining strong and strategically important for historic fashion houses.
