Uniqlo and KAWS's new collaboration is on the way

Uniqlo has finally announced the arrival of a collaboration that has been rumored for months: a new exclusive partnership with KAWS. Thursday, September 7 will mark the simultaneous launch of UT's new collection of T-Shirts and art book in collaboration with the New York-based artist. The announcement has sparked excitement among collectors and fans of the great contemporary artist's work, who back in the days of his first link-up with the Japanese apparel giant had already created long lines in front of stores and sent the entire collection quickly selling out. The UT collection, whose garments are genderless, distinguished by the artist's iconic characters such as COMPANION and BFF (the latter presented in a vibrant shade of pink for the occasion) captures the essence of KAWS's creative world.  But the news doesn't end there. UNIQLO, in collaboration with Phaidon, will also present an art book dedicated to KAWS. The art book will be part of Phaidon's renowned Contemporary Artist Series and is set to become the definitive contribution to the in-depth study of contemporary art. The book will be available for purchase starting Sept. 22.

To celebrate this extraordinary collaboration, some of UNIQLO's major stores around the world will be transformed into veritable store-museums, with murals and installations depicting KAWS' distinctive characters, he said: «I am pleased to exclusively launch my new book Phaidon Contemporary Artist Series with my longtime partner, UNIQLO. To celebrate this occasion, I have designed a small capsule collection of T-shirts and sweatshirts that will be available for a limited time. I hope you enjoy the collection!» In addition, UNIQLO will be holding surprises for those who arrive at the store first. Those who purchase the art book and at least one UT item from the collection will receive a free limited edition tote bag. The bag features cover art from the art book and KAWS' iconic XX motif. For collectible sticker lovers, then, UNIQLO will offer an extra touch of style. With the purchase of two items from the UT KAWS collection, excluding the art book, customers will receive free special stickers. These exclusive stickers will be available both in stores and online.

The new Uniqlo x KAWS collection will be available in all Uniqlo stores and online starting Sept. 7.
