Titled La Maison, the series reintroduces the main themes of Succession through fashion

Following the success of Succession, the Max-signed family drama that told the story of a billionaire in search of an heir, reaching 2.9 million viewers for the final episode, Apple TV+ has announced that their next series will follow the story of a French luxury fashion house. The news comes at a sensitive time for the film industry, precisely because a number of actors' and writers' strikes are still taking place in Los Angeles these days. Titled La Maison, this project seems to be very similar to Max's. According to Apple TV+, the series will revolve around the backstage of the fashion house, narrating everything that happens within a family dynasty.

La Maison will consist of ten parts, each lasting one hour, and will star César Award winners Carole Bouquet, Pierre Deladonchamps, and Antoine Reinartz, as well as Lambert Wilson, Amira Casar, Anne Consigny, Florence Loiret Caille, and Ji-Min Park. The plot starts with the departure of Wilson's Vincent LeDu from the maison, and the appointment of Perle Foster - LeDu's former assistant played by Casar - at the helm of the fashion house. Directed by Fabrice Gobert and Daniel Grou, the show was conceived by producer Alex Berger and written by José Caltagirone and Valentine Milville. La Maison could herald itself a success, given the popularity generated in recent years by fashion series and films such as Emily in Paris and Halston. Even in Hollywood, despite the strikes, a new fashion film is taking shape. In Mother May, written by music artists and producers Charli XCX and Jack Antanoff, Anne Hathaway takes on the role of a pop star engaged to an admired fashion designer, played by Micaela Coel. While on the small screen, a series on the life of Cristóbal Balenciaga with Alberto San Juan and one on Karl Lagerfeld with Daniel Brühl have been in development for some time, both produced by Disney+. Furthermore, a film dedicated to the German designer is also in development, this time played by Jared Leto.
