Kanye West unveiled Yeezy's new collection in secret
Skinhead model casting adds to long list of controversies

Although Kanye West is officially (off the mainstream radar, that does not mean his tireless creative flair has suddenly stopped: his work continues, more controversial and low-budget than ever. According to reports from Highsnobiety and numerous Instagram posts from fan accounts, the Chicago rapper secretly unveiled YEEZY SEASON 10 in Los Angeles on May 1, a low-key event that barely revealed the clothes and instead focused on the performance. The focus was on a group of skinhead models dressed in simple white T-shirts and black trousers, a reference to the very famous song 'Black Skinhead', which nevertheless raises concern after the rapper's recent pro-Nazi statements.

Ye secretly began work on Yeezy Season 10 in late April, choosing the shaven-headed models at a Los Angeles warehouse at the last minute. The show took place in an anonymous West Hollywood shop, with unremarkable decorations (apart from candles) and a spartan sound system lying on the floor. The invitation to Yeezy Season 10, posted on Ye fan pages (like Dondasplace on Instagram or Donda Times on Twitter), did not mention the name of the event, but simply gave YZY FREE as the title, so it is unclear whether the show was the actual Yeezy Season 10 show or just a teaser in the form of a dubious performance. West himself was not on site, as he had left with his wife Bianca Censori after the event.
It may be a teaser, because, although SEASON 9 generated international media coverage, it featured structured garments, lots of looks and original designs, in contrast to the minimalist uniforms worn on stage a few days ago. But from now on, Ye will probably be relegated to these kind of weird pop-up events surrounded only by a few fanatical fans. Without press releases, mainstream coverage and wider publicity, Yeezy's shows are destined to be "Ye cult fodder" and nothing else, "which is well-deserved."
