All the details about the upcoming adidas x Gucci collection

Following a curious statement from a Gucci representative about the forthcoming collaboration with adidas, Highsnobiety has suggested an unsurprising theory: what if the Gucci x adidas collection really is an annual event? Although adidas revealed nothing to the magazine, confirmation came from Gucci that the next drop will take place at the end of March, with a strong «focus on footwear.» Moreover, a few days ago a couple of unofficial photos were shared on Instagram depicting the new designs: a reinterpretation of the Gazelles, the ZX8000 and the Adilette. If these trainers will effectively be part of the future collab, it will be evident how Gucci is still very much tied to the flashy aesthetic brought by Alessandro Michele, demonstrating the - perhaps permanent - influence the former creative director had on the brand's imagination.

Last year, when the first collaboration was announced, adidas and Gucci referred to it as "inaugural," thus indicating the likely beginning of a series of drops. The collection, advertised between February and March, went on sale during the summer followed by an après ski line during the winter. In other news, adidas is also rumoured to be ready to collaborate with Balenciaga again, but in this case this is unsubstantiated speculation.
