Louis Vuitton's upcoming resort show will take place in Italy
On May 24, following a quick stop in Seoul
March 9th, 2023
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Nicolas Ghesquière's tenure as artistic director at Louis Vuitton. Since his arrival in 2013, the brand has travelled around the world selecting breathtaking architectural spaces for each of its cruise shows, such as the Bob Hope's Palm Springs home, designed by John Lautner, or the Niterói Museum of Contemporary Art in Rio de Janeiro. Even for its next resort show Louis Vuitton has chosen an evocative backdrop, having booked for the occasion Isola Bella, a treasure trove of baroque art located on Lake Maggiore and owned by the Borromeo family, who, according to Vuitton, will make their land available to the brand on totally exclusive circumstances.
The fashion show will take place on 24 May, and is expected to take place between the Palazzo Borromeo, a building complete with 20 rooms and decorated with 130 culturally important Italian works of art, and the gardens surrounding the Teatro Massimo, another monument of exceptional Baroque architecture, with its gondon terraces. A month earlier, on 29 April, Louis Vuitton will be presenting its pre-fall 2023 in Seoul - where, among other things, Gucci will stage its cruise show. While Dior has not yet announced where the resort collection will be shown, Chanel has indicated its destination in Los Angeles, and Max Mara in Stockholm.
