Body and color in Etro's new project ETROPÍA
Marco De Vincenzo era is now imminent

ETROPÍA is the first visual project announcing the new course of the Etro brand under the leadership of creative director Marco De Vincenzo. If the designer's era will officially begin on September 23, one of the most anticipated events of the upcoming Milan Fashion Week, the «manifesto in the making» of ETROPÍA seems intended to be a palate cleanser before the entry into the new world of Etro that De Vincenzo is preparing for the public. The first output of the continuing project is a series of candid portraits of models whose bodies, painted in different psychedelic shades of color, stand out against a white background.
It is definitely a more abstract and conceptual Etro whose intent, through the project's name that recalls the notion of "utopia," would seem to be to open up the brand's imagery to a new community, while translating its aesthetics toward a more nuanced and idealized direction. Leaving the past behind, then, the project «tells the connection between reality and utopia, identity and imagination» which will form the basis of the brand's new life.
