After rumors emerged following the appearance of Nike sneakers in Jacquemus' Family Love campaign last September, confirmation is official: Jacquemus and Nike will unveil their first collaboration on June 28. The brand made the announcement on Instagram via a video depicting a tennis court-with the designer telling that the collaboration will have at its center the historic Nike Air Humara model from the late 1990s, predecessor to the Terra Humara, and a sneaker well known among techwear lovers and fans of the ACG line.
The collection will focus on womanswear with sneakers and accessories being genderless instead. Here is how Simon Porte Jacquemus described it:
«I wanted to create a collection that reinterprets athletic women’s sportswear in a minimal way. I have always been inspired by vintage ACG pieces and Nike campaigns from the ’90s. Having this imagery in mind, we designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colors […]. It was important for the collection to be accessible for all bodies, and to be a natural blend of Jacquemus style and Nike performance».
