Burberry launches the Family and Friends project
A celebration of togetherness, style and family through a series of collabo
December 23rd, 2021
In an era where collaborations have become a practice, Burberry has also adapted to the times by announcing the Family and Friends project. Presented as "a celebration of unity, style and family", the series will involve external talents from different fields and heterogeneous backgrounds with the task of interpreting the identity of the brand re-imagined by Tisci since his arrival, creating each time a new pre-collection.
The first name chosen is that of Lea T for autumn-winter 2022 coming next January and created by the designer already a long-time collaborator of Tisci and Burberry, in the past already taking part in the campaigns of the brand, as well as the SS21 fashion show.
Born with the intention of celebrating the friendship around the brand, Family and Friends seems an excellent idea to give new contaminations to the direction of Tisci, now firmly in contention among the names given as departing. It will certainly be interesting to see the next talents involved, but especially in what way the project can shuffle the cards compared to what has been done with other designers who have adopted the same strategy in the past. Did someone say Kim Jones?
