The new " Earthkeepers by RÆBURN" collection by Timberland
A series of archival garments reinterpreted in an eco-innovative key
October 19th, 2021
Timberland has unveiled a new capsule for the FW21 collection called Earthkeepers by RÆBURN, designed by the brand's creative director, Christopher Raeburn, combining on the one hand his passion for the brand's decades-long archives and on the other hand the commitment to sustainability – promoting Timberland's vision of achieving a net positive impact on nature by 2030. For the capsule, some items recovered from the Timberland archive have been reinterpreted with an eye to sustainability, both through the use of natural and other recycled materials, including the new Regenerative Leather, coming from farms that use regenerative farming techniques, and the Re:Down recovery feather. The creative director himself called the capsule "a trailblazer" in Timberland's turn towards responsible design, mixing sustainable technical innovation and archival approach.
Among the highlights of the collection, which is genderless, are certainly the GreenStride™ Edge Boots Earthkeepers by RÆBURN, with a sole made of 75% renewable sugar cane and natural rubber, an upper in Regenerative Leather and ReBOTL fabric composed of 100% recycled plastic. The same recycled fabric, along with Re:Down feather padding, is used for the fully foldable Earthkeepers jacket, with corner pockets inspired by archives and a digi-camo print. Finally there is the waterproof technical backpack in eco-cordura and recycled polyester.
