The new Pacsun capsule collection designed by A$AP Rocky
The first since his appointment as Guest Creative Director of the Californian brand
July 19th, 2021
After the news of the appointment of A$AP Rocky as guest creative director of Pacsun and his appearance on the streets of New York with a new pair of Vans, many had thought that the collaboration between the rapper and the Californian brand/retailer would focus on sneakers. A few days ago, however, the entire line-up of the collection was revealed, with the presentation of not one but two collaborations: the first with Vans for a new model of Old Skool while the second with the historic brand Russell Athletic, one of the oldest sportswear brands in the world, the brand that invented the first cotton jersey ever used in the sweatshirts of university athletic teams.
The new Old Skool models are certainly the highlight of the collection, even if at the moment they are not available in Italy: a double black and white colourway that decorates the side of the sneaker with a flame-shaped suede panel. The rest of the collaboration with Russell, however, available in Italy, includes a series of hoodies, t-shirts, trousers and shorts combined with each other and equipped with details such as the brand's chenille logo, psychedelic prints of skulls and contrasting stitching.
