Vivienne Westwood is one of the most important and influential personalities in the fashion industry, the woman who introduced punk to the fashion world who once said: "The only reason I work in fashion is to destroy the word 'conformism'". On her 80th birthday and upon the fortieth anniversary of her career, journalist and author Alexander Fury wrote the first full retrospective of her career entitled Vivianne Westwood. Accompanied by introductions and descriptions of the author's collections and biographies written by the designers themselves, the book offers the rare opportunity to trace the career development of a unique and independent designer. The book collects over 1300 looks from more than 70 collections that originally appeared in the unforgettable fashion shows exactly as the designer imagined them (from hair to make-up, from jewelry to accessories) and worn by the most famous supermodels. The cover is decorated with the iconic MacAndreas tartan in the blue and pink variant, designed for the FW94 collection.
