IED Milano's virtual reality exhibition opens to the public
34 projects for over 4km of digital gallery
May 4th, 2021
IED Amaze Project was presented at the beginning of February as the first all-virtual and multi-platform exhibition dedicated to the best theses discussed in 2020. Thanks to digital generative art, it was possible to access a 3D gallery where the visitor could experiment with 34 thesis projects related to the three-year courses in the areas of design, fashion, visual arts and communication. From tomorrow, May 4th, what was only a digital exhibition that can be visited via an app, opens its doors to the public, by appointment, with an 80s style video game to play on-site and a set of Oculus headsets to explore the exhibition thanks to virtual reality.
The digital nature of the project allows to challenge the same laws of physics: the digital path to be carried out thanks to virtual reality is in fact 4 kilometres long with over 350 photos and three hours in total of video materials and 10 3D installations, but also sketches, tables and sketches but also materials on the making of various projects. To make this virtual exhibition possible is the digital generative art that thanks to the Unreal Engine has allowed the construction of a tech microcosm to explore to your liking: you can choose to follow the path in an exhibition dimension, articulated for projects and accessible through quick menus; or to visit the three-dimensional world through an intuitive touch guided tour; or even to move freely in the environment, immersing yourself in a real virtual landscape.
