The great return of the Air Jordan 1 KO "Chicago"
The most iconic sneaker ever, in a summer version
April 30th, 2021
It continues to be a very busy year for Jordan Brand, which is surprising fans and sneakerheads with unexpected re-editions and releases of its vast archive. Rumours have been running around since the beginning of the year, but now Nike has confirmed the release of the Air Jordan 1 KO "Chicago", scheduled for next May 12 on the SNKRS app.
The sneaker was released for the first time in 1986, differentiating itself from the brand's most iconic silhouette for the materials chosen for the upper, canvas instead of leather. Among other differences, the AJIKO has a custom branding on the side of the shoe, unlike the classic with the winged logo, while the sole is enriched with the Vandal motif. Even today the meaning of KO remains shrouded in mystery, although many believe it simply means "Knock Out". After being relaunched in 2011, with new releases until 2014, this is the first time the sneaker has been produced again since that year.
