The Patta x Tommy Hilfiger capsule celebrating the Black community
For the occasion, Tommy Hilfiger's logo turned into a Pan-African flag
April 6th, 2021
Patta and Tommy Hilfiger have announced the upcoming release of a collaborative capsule focused on the African Diaspora Movement and the black community unit, promoting it with the message: «Unity is strength, division is weakness». On the occasion of the collaboration, Tommy Hilfiger's logo also becomes a Pan-African flag while the campaign dedicated to it will tell the multifaceted nature of life in African cities: a part was shot by Hassan Hajjaj in Lagos, Nigeria, accompanied by the short film by Nigerian director Dafe Oboro; while Patta has made a documentary directed by Frank Zichem that follows the story of a Suriname man who explores the traces of the ancient slave trade routes in Holland.
Patta x Tommy's unisex capsule collection is inspired by a number of iconic pieces from Tommy Jeans' archive and includes shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, outerwear, jeans and accessories. The quote printed on the T-shirts reads: «Great principles, great ideals know no nationality». In all the items of the capsule, there is double branding, with the Pan-African flag and the Patta logo. As part of this partnership, Tommy Hilfiger and Patta will make donations to The Black Archives in Amsterdam, Sistah Space in London and The Good Neighborhood Collective in Milan, each chosen for their dedication to celebrating Afro-descendants and raising their voices.
