Kenzo wants to double the world's tigers population
With a capsule collection and a partnership with the WWF
March 19th, 2021
The tiger has always been the symbol of Kenzo, since its founder, the late Kenzo Takada, had always boasted a deep connection with nature and its wildlife, so much so that he called his first (and legendary) Paris boutique Jungle Jap. In the coming year, Kenzo's commitment to the cause of environmental conservation will have tigers at its centre: the goal of the brand is in fact to double the number of specimens currently present in the wild by 2022. For this reason, Kenzo has partnered with WWF to support its work with the TX2 project with a series of capsule collections of which the first chapter was presented last September and whose second chapter will arrive next March 22.
Composed, like the first capsule, of basic garments such as sweatshirts, t-shirts and tank tops, the new capsule collection is made entirely of organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). For each item sold, the brand will donate $10 to the TX2 project. The partnership will continue until the end of 2022, the date of the ambitious deadline set by TX2 to double the number of wild tigers compared to 2010 levels. The collaboration is also part of a broader partnership between Kenzo and WWF, whose goal is to improve the sustainability of the cotton supply chain and water consumption.
