Turning back the clock with Missoni 331
The brand presents a watch that is a tribute to founder Ottavio Missoni, Olympic athlete and designer
March 2nd, 2021
Missoni's new chronograph, named Missoni 331 Limited Edition, is a tribute to the brand's founder, Ottavio Missoni, who at the London Olympics where he competed in 1973 wore that number for the Italian team. The number brought him luck: it was on that occasion that he met Rosita, the woman who would become his wife and with whom he would found Missoni. This new limited edition chronograph (at 331 pieces, of course) wants to be a tribute to that very moment – and perhaps an invitation to seize the moment, as Ottavio Missoni did at the Olympics.
The model bears the number 331 in blue on the continuous seconds counter. Other colour accents are found on the hands and counters and revive the black dial decorated with a wavy pattern, called precisely the Wave, which is part of the brand's historic archive. Finally, the bezel, crown and buttons, as well as the case back that gives a glimpse of the automatic movement of the Swiss brand, are decorated with black rubber inserts.
