Fred Perry's new "Made in England" collection
A tribute to the uniform of subcultures
February 12th, 2021
Fred Perry's new Made in England collection is a tribute to the history of the brand but also a celebration of British craftmanship, which has always been one of the pillars of its production. Elements such as the tartan shirt, the Harrington Jacket of the Mods and the Mac jacket are updated in materials but respecting the original archive designs while from a collaboration with the historic footwear brand George Cox, recently acquired by Fred Perry's holding company, like Monkey Boots inspired by Czechoslovak army models and featuring the same 14-hole construction and side details.
The polo shirt, the symbol of Fred Perry, will be present in three incarnations: the M3 model, designed and worn by the same founder of the brand in 1952; the M2 model, whose collar is single tipped, that is, decorated by a single line; and finally the famous M12 model that has two lines instead. The button-down cotton poplin shirt features two distinct tartan colourways, followed by a large selection of outerwear with mac jackets, bomber jackets and Harrington Jackets and, finally, monkey boots co-signed by George Cox.
