The new fashion interactive gamemap created by Lyst
In collaboration with nss magazine, to tell how the fashion system has changed and will evolve
December 28th, 2020
It's no secret that the one that is about to end was a very particular year for the fashion industry - as it was for the rest of the world - twelve months that have revolutionized practices and habits that until recently seemed immutable, eternal. However, the health emergency has accelerated those changes that were already taking place within the fashion system, bringing about the fulfilment of will for novelty and innovation that have dominated the field in the last ten years. In such a limited period of time, fashion has been the architect and witness of epochal changes, in a decade that is at times confused, frenetic, difficult to decipher.
It has been a decade of contamination, of meeting and blending of areas once considered antithetical, such as streetwear and luxury; luxury and its fashion brands have completely disrupted their definition and their role, becoming more and more cultural voices, able to build shared experiences and imaginaries; the audience of consumers has become an increasingly influential player in the industry, an informed and competent voice that brands must know how to listen to.
Lyst's latest project, the leading search engine in the fashion world, aims to investigate contemporary brand perception through an interactive digital game. Cartesio, this the name of the game, created together with nss magazine, intends to entertain the user who has the opportunity to express their vision of fashion. There will be no winners or losers, but a map that reflects one's perception of fashion, which can be downloaded and shared on one's social profiles. Lyst and nss magazine have identified two variables by relying on the experience and knowledge of users, now true stakeholders in the fashion sector. Each player can generate their own map from Cartesio by choosing the right coordinates for each brand.
To create your first fashion map on Cartesio, the steps to follow are simple: choose at least 5 brands from the list; select the logo and drag it on the map to the point that seems most suitable; save and share the map.
Cartesio is only the first chapter of a digital revolution that aims to interpret the fashion system and will be unveiled in its entirety at the beginning of 2021.
