Jil Sander and Arc’teryx announced a collaboration
Dedicated to ski-themed activewear, it will be released next winter
December 2nd, 2020
Lucie and Luke Meier, creative directors of Jil Sander, have partnered with Canadian cult brand Arc'teryx for a sportswear capsule that will involve the German brand's activewear line, Jil Sander+. The capsule will be for both men and women and will include ski-themed garments, technical accessories included. We will still have to wait to see it, however, as the scheduled release date is set for the FW21 season, that is, next October.
The collaboration of the two brands, both known for their emphasis on minimalism and design functionality, marks Arc'teryx's slow but steady approach to the fashion world. A very cautious approach, which began first with the appearance of the brand's shell jackets wearing off-white models for the brand's FW20 fashion show, and later with a collaboration with BEAMS. The partnership with Jil Sander represents an important step for the aesthetic redefinition of a brand that has so far remained substantially far from the logic of the fashion system.
