The second Prada x adidas sneaker collaboration
Sustainable sneakers that evoke the myth of the America's Cup

In the history of the sneaker game, the Prada America's Cup holds a special place: it was the first luxury sneaker to enjoy a transversal popularity and to mix the technology of mesh and vulcanized rubber with the luxury of leather details and futuristic Prada design. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that the silhouette of the America's Cup was the inspiration behind the second chapter of the Prada x adidas collaboration, which, however, comes in a new translucent version and composed entirely of recycled materials presented to the world by Sean Wotherspoon himself, who published, among other things, a video of himself skateboarding wearing the new sneakers.
The new construction of the sneaker highlights the work done on the details: the structure of the upper, organized in layers, and equipped with holes for breathability with the three stripes of adidas embedded inside, the details of the lace system and the red line of Prada at the heel taken from the America's Cup, the inner mesh lining and the reinforcements that surround the connections themselves and the toe. If the first collaboration emphasized the refinement of materials, this second pushes the accelerator on technology, resulting in an ultralight and absolutely minimalistic sneaker on the one hand, but complex and structured on the other.
