The first drop of Veilance's FW20 collection
The techwear brand-brother of Arc'Teryx expands its modular layering concept
August 21st, 2020
The values of a brand such as Veilance, the brand-brother of Arc'Teryx, have remained for all its eleven years of life a rigorous minimalism married to a constant technological research always oriented to detail. These values have made it one of the most important names in the contemporary techwear scene and, on the occasion of the first drop of the brand's FW20 collection, they have been further advanced, elevating the concept of high performance clothing to a true lifestyle. As Taka Kasuga, the brand's creative director, explained:
The FW20 Collection is an expansive system that advances how we're able to live - and what we’re able to do - all the way down to sub-zero conditions. Our modular layering approach combines highly technical materials with varying levels of insulation, building a truly adaptive range.
Among the most interesting innovations in the collection are a jacket and coat named Euler IS composed of a polyester-based fabric that guarantees maximum insulation while maintaining a very low weight – a fabric that has been designed not only to withstand water but also not to lose its insulating features if wet. A great Veilance classic that is re-proposed in the collection is the Monitor IS SL Coat, composed of a special synthetic material called Shakedry produced by GORE-TEX. While a novelty this year is the debut of the Mionn IS Capsule: a range of three jackets, an overshirt and a pair of trousers consisting of an outer layer of TerraTexTM and an internal, ultralight and insulating one, named Coreloft.
