The new sustainable sneakers by Surface Project

The sneakers world is increasingly involved in exploring eco-friendly solutions combining respect for the environment, functionality and design. One of the most dedicated brands in the industry is Surface Project which, following the introduction of its first 100% sustainable sneaker in 2019, now presents a small capsule in collaboration with graffiti artist André Saraiva. 

I’ve been a fan of André Saraiva for 20 years - said Samir Souid, founder and owner of the Danish label. His unrestrained approach, visual aesthetics and climate awareness all fit perfectly with what I want to accomplish with Surface Project. 

The result of this partnership is four models of sneakers and slip-ons made from 100% oceanic macroplastics, with recycled rubber soles and without the use of chemicals or environmentally harmful dyes. The shoes are available in black, white, pink and are embellished with Mr. A, the popular character with eyes shaped like "X" and "O", created by Saraiva in 1989.
