The new Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer
Fully eco-friendly, the new sneakers will be available from July 24

Over the last few hours, Jaden Smith has unveiled on Instagram his latest project. The 22-year-old singer and actor presented his first collaboration with New Balance, called the Vision Racer, to the public.
In fact, as Complex points out, the agreement between Smith and New Balance dates back to 2017 and this would be only the first sneaker to go on the market, not the first that Jaden Smith has designed: the singer spent two days at the brand's factory in Maine learning how to build a shoe and, although it is an easy detail to forget, in 2018 he wore a one-off New Balance 1700 x Louis Vuitton Archlight, for the premiere of the Skate Kitchen movie.
Just like the Custom Louis Vuitton sneaker, the Vision Racers are a hybrid of two different models, in this case between the New Balance 1700 and the X-Racer, declined in a colourway called Wavy Baby Blue. The most striking element of the silhouette remains the sole, which is not only chunky but divided into three rectangular blocks and decorated, in the outsole, by a layer of translucent material in which the word Vision is written in the same font used in Smith's SYRE and ERYS albums. Other brandings include the micro-written Vision that runs between sole and upper and Smith's signature reproduced in the inner sole. The entire shoe is made from recycled and vegan-friendly materials, especially in parts made of polyester, while the sole is made of EVA foam.
The new Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer will be available online and at selected retailers starting July 24.
