Fear of God t-shirt to support George Floyd's family
In collaboration, among others, with Off-White™, Noah, Awake NY, Denim Tears and Pyer Moss
June 5th, 2020
Jerry Lorenzo, founder of Fear of God, yesterday presented a new charity initiative for the family of George Floyd, and in particular his daughter Gianna, in collaboration with some of the leading black-owned streetwear brands such as Off-White™, Noah, Awake NY, Denim Tears, Pyer Moss, Union LA, Just Don and Melody Ehsani. The initiative consists of the release of a special edition t-shirt whose proceeds will go entirely to the Gianna Floyd Memorial Fund. Here's how Lorenzo commented on the project:
«All that we do for Fear of God is fueled by a generational love [...] a love to create an independent business that my children have the choice to one day carry on. George’s daughter, Gianna, will not have this choice. We can never become for her what was lost, but we can help fill a small hole in her life by providing one thing she may not have to worry about».
The t-shirt, available in the black and white version, has on the chest the metallic acronym GF, which recalls both the name of George Floyd and that of his daughter, while on the back appear the names of all the brands that participated below the exposed label of Fear of God.
Lorenzo's initiative is analogous to that of Brain Dead and Dev Hynes, who have created a charity t-shirt, raising 500,000 dollars in just forty-eight hours - funds that have been donated to The Movement for Black Lives and the LGBTQ Freedom Fund.
The Fear of God t-shirt in support of George Floyd's family is available starting today through the brand's Instagram channel for the price of 100 dollars. If you would like to donate directly to the George Floyd Memorial Fund click here.
