Virgil Abloh showed the first-ever sample of the Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 1
“This is the exact pair that kicked off an epiphany”

Yesterday Virgil Abloh posted on his Instagram profile an image that is a real treat for all the fans of his work and that documents the initial moment when his legend was born: the first-ever prototype of the Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 1. Here are the words that the designer accompanied to the photographs of the prototype and the first mock-up of the sneaker:
“An exacto knife and this off the shelf pair of Jordan 1’s and The Ten came to fruition. This is the exact pair that kicked off an epiphany.”.
From the photos of the prototype, you can clearly see the main changes introduced by Abloh: first of all the Swoosh, detached and reattached with blue ribbon, above a deconstructed toe with an exposed interior, the collar of the foam shoe exposed and the seams removed to the heel. In the second image, you can see a complete prototype, with what appears to be an autograph by Michael Jordan, and below you can see the model of Swoosh stitched up with points insight.
