Bottega Veneta launches digital residency project for artists
A new artist every week to celebrate creativity and collaboration
March 25th, 2020
Bottega Veneta has announced the launch of the Bottega Residency initiative, a new digital project that will move across multiple channels and will see every week a different creative share with the public their inspirations, talk about their favorite artworks and celebrate the values of culture and community. The protagonist of the first week of the new project will be Daniel Lee himself who will show the public his favorite writers, artists and movies. Here's how Lee commented on the launch:
“Creativity and strength lie at the heart of Bottega Veneta. In this highly distressing time, we feel a responsibility to celebrate those values and ignite a sense of joy and hope in our community and beyond.”.
Described as "a theatre of joyous distractions", Bottega Residency has a weekly program marked by the days: Monday will be dedicated to getting to know the new resident artist and his favorite authors, On Tuesdays will be dedicated to artists and works of art, the On Wednesday, films and directors will be presented with a list of the best virtual experiences to try during quarantine, on Friday there will be a music event, on Saturday a chef will share their recipes while Sunday will be dedicated back to the movies.
With the creation of this real schedule of initiatives and content, similar in some ways to the series of takeovers by artists and creatives organized a few weeks ago by Sunnei, Bottega Veneta shows that in 2020 a luxury brand should not be just sell clothes or an idea of luxury but serve as a link between the creative world and their community. The most remarkable detail of this project, in fact, is precisely its weekly structure and its relatability, which allow it to be really close to the audience with content (such as movie tips, books or recipes) that the members themselves of the brand community can experience in my daily life.
