Chiara Ferragni and Fedez launch a fundraiser to help fight Coronavirus
After a donation of 1 million euros from Armani, now also the Ferragnez get out there in this moment of crisis

With 7,375 cases, 133 deaths in a single day out of a total of 366 victims and 3557 patients admitted to hospitals with symptoms, 650 of whom in intensive care, the effects of Coronavirus in Italy are becoming increasingly dramatic. So much so that the Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, has issued a decree banning movements inside and outside Lombardia and 14 provinces in the Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont and Marche regions until 3 April to reduce the risks of contagion and prevent hospitals from collapsing under the demand of the growing number of citizens with serious respiratory disorders.
In order to face the emergency, the Armani group announced the donation of 1 million and 250K euros to the hospitals Luigi Sacco, San Raffaele, Istituto dei Tumori di Milano, Spallanzani di Roma and to support the civil protection activities.
Today, even Chiara Ferragni and Fedez, giving a donation of 100,000 euros, launched a fundraising campaign for the creation of new beds in the intensive care unit of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.
The campaign of the influencer, comes just days after the long call to his many millions of followers to understand the importance of staying at home.
Armani and Chiara are not the only names in the fashion world to fight the effects and spread of COVID-19. Bulgari has donated a significant amount of money to the research department of the Lazzaro Spallanzani Institute in Rome, one of the first medical teams to isolate the DNA of the virus. The money enabled the hospital, which is specialized in infectious diseases, to purchase a microscopic image acquisition system, essential to push forward the research that will lead to the prevention and treatment of the virus. Dolce&Gabbana have decided to support scientific research, in particular, a study coordinated by the immunologist Alberto Mantovani, Scientific Director of Humanitas, and aimed at understanding how the immune system reacts to the virus; while 130,000 euros from Versace will be used by the Chinese Red Cross Foundation to alleviate the lack of medical supplies in the country. The two major luxury giants, LVMH and Kering, have also decided to help China. The first gave 2 million euros to the Chinese Red Cross, while the second 983 thousand euros for the purchase of medical supplies such as masks, glasses and protective clothing.
