Moncler Genius' latest collaboration: JW Anderson
A new creative phase for Moncler Genius
February 3rd, 2020
Jonathan Anderson is the latest big name to be added to the Moncler Genius designer list and joins the program for his 2020 drops. Moncler group described the collaboration with Anderson as an "ingeniously innovative vision of fashion that challenges gender". The collection will be presented during the Milan Fashion Week on February 19, together with the collaborations of Veronica Leoni and Sergio Zambon for 2 Moncler 1952, Sandro Mandrino for 3 Moncler Grenoble, as well as Craig Green, 1017 Alyx 9SM, Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara, Richard Quinn, Simone Rocha, and Poldo Dog Couture. The Moncler Genius project asks several creative directors to work for the same brand, creating their own individual collections that are released throughout the year. This allows the brand to tap into the hype market that focuses on limited collection drops, while still allowing the brand to market new designs on a monthly basis. Since its creation in 2018, Moncler Genius has sought to reinvent Moncler DNA through a series of collaborations with some of the industry's most talented creatives. Anderson launched his label in 2008, and since the early creative years, he has continued to challenge gender norms through his design of silent and rigorous individualism. With Anderson's unique and contemporary design aesthetic, the Irish designer will offer an interpretation of the modern brand that combines masculinity and femininity.
