A human feast for Thom Browne's new collection
The conviviality of the new collection by Browne
January 21st, 2020
Thom Browne directed and presented his campaign for the FW20 collection which offers a magical and mystical dream.
The surrealist designer tells a beautiful story of 8 men with animal features who come together and celebrate by eating the Thom Browne man as a dessert. The photography by Casper Sejersen took place at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. Stephen Jones, a famous accessory designer, created and produced the masks for the 'animal' guests, which were made of wool on papier-mache.
The pieces shot for these collections are a mix of traditional fabrics with a more deconstructed form of sports origin. Animal printed wool tweed, Harris tweed, Prince of Wales, cashmere sweaters, patterned ties and knee-high socks, come together to amuse and disturb the viewer by creating fringed jackets and Bermuda shorts.
Accessories include some new feathered sports striped bags and a new shoe with a leather upper isolated by a section of galvanized rubber in the shape of a wingtip.
