Nike celebrates African culture with the Air Force 1 Low

The Nike By You digital platform, which allows you to customize your favourite Nike sneakers, adds a new silhouette, designed to celebrate African culture.

Nike has joined forces with the award-winning South African artist and illustrator Karabo Poppy, who dug into the roots of her country to give the Air Force 1 Low distinctive features and unique colourways.

Colorways are inspired by African bead bracelets, dominant colors will be red, orange, green and purple. Another source of inspiration for Poppy was the advertising posters of beauty salons and local barbers present along the streets. The application of patches and geometric patterns on upper complete the design.
