AVNIER x Salomon Advanced XT S-Lab 5
The two brands join forces again
November 6th, 2019
Last year the French brand Salomon Advanced, worldwide-famous for its techwear and footwear, collaborated with the young French-Swiss streetwear brand AVNIER to create the Speedcross 4. For the FW19/20 season, the two companies return to join forces to create a new sneaker, which will be released today, up to the technical standards of Salomon Advanced but with the typical streetwear aesthetics of AVNIER: the Salomon Advanced XT S-Lab 5.
The aesthetics of the shoe is based on contrasts. The synthetic upper is dark purple with the usual black geometric decorations whose design flows towards the eyelets. The tongue is black too and has a branding with the name of AVNIER in white that runs along the taping and is repeated on the heel. The violet of the upper contrasts with the lime green and the white of the midsole - a color that returns on the tip. The outsol, instead, is hazel-colored.
On a technical level, the shoe features Salomon’s technologies AC Muscle and AC Sketeletom, which provide greater stability and cushioning and are designed to withstand any type of shock or stress while maintaining their integrity and lightness. The Contragrip exterior sole, another technology developed by Salomon, guarantees perfect grip on all types of terrain.
The stated goal of this collaboration was to take a sneaker originally conceived for trail running and give it a new look to turn it into an article that even fashion lovers could appreciate. This move is part of Salomon's broader strategy of entering the fashion world, as witnessed by many recent collaborations in with brands such as 11 By Boris Bidjan Saberi, Palace and The Broken Arm. The fashion spirit of the collaboration is captured by the hyper-realistic photoshoot by Maxime Guyon.
The AVNIER x Salomon XT S-Lab 5 is available today from the AVNIER online shop starting at 11:30.
