Vans keeps surprising us with interesting and unexpected collaborations. This time it has chosen a fashion icon as its partner: Vivienne Westwood.
The archive prints, graphics and design notes of the English designer become the protagonists of a capsule collection of shoes that combines punk and street style. Six Vans Classic silhouettes undergo the new makeover: Sk8-Hi, Sk8-Hi Platform, Checkerboard Slip-on, Style #53, Old Skool and Authentic.
A handwritten letter sent from Southern California to Vivienne Westwood's flagship boutique in 44 Conduit St. in London features on the new Sk8-Hi made of natural light leather and embellished with a stamp printed with the launch date of the collaboration and a leather-bound sole.
The Sk8-Hi Platform is inspired by Vivienne Westwood's Pirate boot, first presented in 1981 as part of the legendary Pirate collection.
The Slip-On combines Vans' checkerboard pattern with Vivienne Westwood's DESTROY graphics.
Straight from the Vans archives of the 1990s, Style #53 returns. The moccasin-style slip-on features a black suede upper, total black carved sole and is finished with a metal application with the symbol of a multicolor globe Vivienne Westwood.
The Vivienne Westwood Orb prints are the protagonists of the new Old Skool is in suede and dark red canvas with contrasting mustard stitching and rubber sole.
The shoe proposal is completed by the Authentic model, which is launched in a new bright blue color created exclusively for this collaboration.
The entire Anglomania collection by Vans x Vivienne Westwood will be available in stores and online on September 20th.
