One of the most iconic sneakers of all time is the Nike Air Max 1, born in 1987 from the hand and mind of designer Tinker Hatfield. For the latest reiteration of the shoe, Nike wanted to pay tribute to the original sketch designed by Hatfield during the development of the first sample of the product.
The Nike Air Max 1 "Sketch to Shelf" looks like a "work in progress" project, the designer's notes like details, numbers or thoughts are visible on the upper part and sole unit. The colour chosen is the most representative, the much-loved Anniversary Red, so suede and Swoosh panels will literally be coloured with a red marker.
At the retail price of €151, the Air Max 1 "Sketch to Shelf" will be available from July 20th at selected Nike retailers and online via Sneakers App.
