Toiletpaper revisits the Nike Air Max 270 React
Maurizio Cattelan's art collective has created a series of posters inspired by the city of Milan
July 4th, 2019
Nike has decided to celebrate the release of the new Air Max 270 React with a highly creative collaboration with Toiletpaper. The art collective, founded by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari in 2010, has created a series of colorful and ironic posters inspired by the city of Milan, imagined as a playground to be discovered, featuring the sneaker.
The shoe, evolution of the Air Max family, born from the union between the Air Unit of the Nike 270 and the softer and more resistant foam of the Nike React, shows in this new version reworked by Toiletpaper all its artistic soul. Its particular geometries, capable of reproducing a wide variety of visual expressions, have allowed it to play with the world of art and design since its first appearance. The main launch colorway, for example, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus movement, while the next releases will be influenced by the psychedelia of San Francisco by geometric compositions and more.
Returning to the new collaboration, this will not stop with the visual part only: scheduled for July is a creative workshop led by Pierpaolo Ferrari and the team of Toiletpaper and a series of surprises to be "unlocked", which can only be found by living in the city and going hunting for posters made for the occasion.
