Givenchy announces the collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger
The limited edition sneakers were unveiled during Pitti Uomo 96
June 13th, 2019
Yesterday, at Pitti Uomo 96, in the gardens of Villa Palmieri in Florence, Givenchy presented the SS20 menswear collection. What attracted the most attention, among the "Nouveau Glitch" garments inspired by an unusual mix of contemporary aesthetics, Baudelaire, Asian street style and 80s Brit music, were the shoes. Clare Waight Keller, in fact, took the opportunity to unveil a new collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger. The protagonist of this partnership is the "Nippon Made" Mexico 66 GDX, a creation that combines in perfect harmony "Japanese know-how in leatherworking and savoir-faire couture". The sneaker is available in two versions: a total white version and a black version with red and white details.
Both silhouettes are co-branded, have the classic stripes of the Japanese brand and are sold in a special packaging that emphasizes the craftsmanship of the collaboration.
The limited edition Givenchy x Onitsuka Tiger will be available from today June 13 in the Givenchy and Onitsuka Tiger flagship stores, at a dedicated pop up store in Japan and online. The expected price is about $550.
