Patta and Jordan Brand join forces and launch a capsule collection that includes apparel and sneakers. For their first collaboration, the Dutch store and the American brand opted for Air Jordan VII, a shoe that Guillaume Schmidt and Vincent van de Waal of Patta call iconic:
“Jordan 7 was first launched in 1992,It was a golden era for hip-hop and a big year for me, a lot of very important albums that I still carry with me came out between ‘92 and ‘96. And aesthetically, those years had such colourful imagery and strong connections to black empowerment. The VII and its geometric patterns also have a reference to Africa.”
The new version features a cream-colored upper with dark brown details, red Jumpman under the collar and the Patta logo on the midsole. The same brown tones enriched with touches of grey characterizes the Aztec all over pattern of the garments in the clothing line. The graphic is inspired by the hip-hop style of the 80s and by the archive prints of JB. Revealed through a lookbook starring Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr., the collection includes shorts, color-blocking tracksuits, T-shirts and boonies hat.
The entire Patta x Jordan Brand capsule will arrive on May 18 at flagship stores in London, Amsterdam and online, while from June 15 the collection will be available on SNKRS apps and selected worldwide retailers.
