Gucci Unveils Pre-Fall 2019 Advertising Campaign
Set between the temples of the Archaeological Park of Selinunte in Sicily
April 15th, 2019
The ruins of the Archaeological Park of Selinunte in Sicily come back to life as in the seventh century BC when, at the time of Magna Graecia, people gathered here after the banquets to chat, dance and have fun.
Alessandro Michele chose this site as the location for Gucci's Pre-Fall 2019 advertising campaign and brought here, to the temples of the acropolis, his crew of rebellious bohemians, hardcore punks, rollerbladers, bodybuilders and surfers inspired by the Venice Beach counter-culture groups. The result that emerges from the shots of Glen Luchford is a surreal and contemporary tableau vivant that gives a fresh look to the after-party of the antiquity. Once again Michele and Gucci explore the international cultural heritage through their collections, creating a perfect blend of art history and the eccentric opulence of the brand.
On the occasion of the launch of the campaign, the Gucci app offers an AR experience: digital photo booth will allow you to see yourself immersed in the setting of the advertising campaign through the screen of your own devices. Exclusive images, behind-the-scenes shots and video clips shot during the photo shoot will also be available.
