A clearly divisive part of Virgil Abloh’s inaugural collection at the creative helm of Louis Vuitton was the presentation of the sneaker range for the legendary French fashion house. Going from the forward leaning execution of his now game-changing Nike “the ten” collections, to a very retro-inspired aesthetic for his Louis Vuitton sneakers, the shoes have been met with mixed reviews. The sneakers are now reaching the wider market and in their honor Louis Vuitton and Virgil yesterday dropped a new video and photo campaign to show the shoes in action as their designs intended, on the hardwood floor of the basketball court. Though you might want to be careful not to scuff them at their price tags circulating around the 1000 euro mark. Made in Italy, each shoe has reportedly taken six hours of stitching to assemble and is made up of 106 components, with 20 pieces just to make the sole itself.
