TV Series Fashion Week FW19
That unpredictable parallelism between fashion and TV series
March 13th, 2019
It is possible to identify the world of fashion as a huge cauldron made of influences and inspirations, stories told through collections that influence our taste and our way of seeing things every season. The clothes that parade on the catwalk tell a story, they build characters giving them an identity and a character through a particular combination of accessories, silhouette or a simple hair style. We could almost define the fashion shows short TV series of 15 minutes that every season enchant the viewer with new events, gothic like those told by Miuccia Prada, romantic in pure Jacquemus style, nostalgic and celebrative like those of Donatella Versace. And so the viewer becomes accustomed to recognizing a human type also through what he wears, just as it happens when one is in front of a television series, the protagonists are what they seem and their clothes communicate it to them. The sweet witch Sabrina with her long red cloak, the exuberant dreamer Kimmy Schmidt with her colorful clothes, the mysterious and surly Emma of Sex Education with her inseparable leather biker.
Here's how it would be if our favorite TV series were on the catwalk.
