January 24th, 2019
In Riccardo Tisci’s ongoing evolution and revolution over at Burberry, the designer today released the first campaign imagery for the British fashion house. Combining the youthful with the hereditary richness of Burberry the campaign features a cast of models shot in a modern architectural setting. Six top photographers have been employed for the campaign, Nick Knight, Danko Steiner, Hugo Comte, Colin Dodgson, Peter Langer, and Letty Schmiterlow. With the first larger images entitled, Part 1: A story by Nick Knight and the smaller stills taken by the others. Featuring select pieces from his inaugural collection which was inspired by the many diverse and wide traditions that have made the United Kingdom what it is today, from Punk to Posh, from the rebellious to the refined.
When commenting on the campaign Tisci explained:
“The thing that excites me the most about Burberry is how inclusive it is – it appeals to everyone no matter their age, their social standing, their race, their gender. So when I was thinking about my first campaign here, I knew I wanted to work with a collection of collaborators to help interpret the breadth of what this incredible heritage house represents to so many different people – from the millennial to the mature, to the British and to the international. They are images that have the confidence to stand on their own, but it’s when they are assembled together that they truly bring the diversity, the eclecticism, the inclusivity and the beauty of Burberry to life" Riccardo Tisci
