The second Matthew M Williams x Nike collection details
With an update on the capsule's hyped sneaker
January 21st, 2019
Ever since the first announcement of the collaboration between Matthew M Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM and Nike, many have wondered when the futuristic shoe silhouette would drop. The technical trek shoe takes inspiration from trail elements with a rugged Vibrams sole. Teased via various presentations and stills over the last year, we have been waiting for a proper release date to come to light. Though an exact date is still to be locked down, the drop is confirmed to be coming closer. Over the weekend in Paris, the next MMW x Nike training collection pre-released through an exclusive pop-up shop on 11 Rue Béranger and Nike has now announced that worldwide availability of the new essentials collection is starting from February 7th, via Nike online and Nikelab flagships. Consisting of a Sherpa fleece, two-in-one pants, a utility vest, detachable hoods, socks, and underwear, with the sneaker said to be coming not long after.
"For this collection, we used computational algorithms to create the camouflage pattern," William's said. Camouflage, of course, traditionally derives from nature. With data, Williams is able to toy with hidden-in-plain-sight natural shapes to arrive at a new motif."
