January 17th, 2019
Gucci and Alessandro Michele continue to express their personal, eccentric and cultured version of luxury exploring the most interesting sites in Europe that, revisited by the creativity of the Roman designer, become the emblem of a new chic tourism. As in the womanswear version, in fact, even in the lookbook for the men's Pre-Fall 2019 collection, the photos are taken by the American director Harmony Korine and set in the archaeological parks of Herculaneum and Pompeii. As was the case in the previous project, the mind behind the 90s cult movie, Kids, portrays the gender fluid-looking models in Michele's incredible looks while they eat lollipops and ice-creams, have the dog on a leash or interact with bizarre tourists. The opulent outfits by Michele with their floral and retro prints seal and make everything interesting. the bold palette; pointed lapels, evening dresses worn for every occasion; the original collage of textures, colors and patterns; incursions into sportswear and extravagant details such as Mr. Peanut's patches, stuck to the lapel of jackets and coats.
