Blondey McCoy is the style icon of the year
The London skater managed to blend all the different cores of British style
January 3rd, 2019
The Bible of fashion has spoken, he's the most stylish man of 2018.
Vogue Hommes has in fact appointed Blondey McCoy as Stylish Icon Of The Year, and we at nss magazine couldn't agree more.
21 years old, born and raised in London but with Libanese roots, McCoy starts skating at 10. He soon drops out of school and becomes a member of the Palace Skateboards crew before founding his own label, Thames, that has collaborated with names with the likes of Fred Perry and adidas. The fortunate encounter with photographer David Bailey lead him to his first advertising campaign, the one of Valentino, and marks the beginning of his rising career. Blondey is now represented by the Kate Moss Agency and has taken part not only in the adidas and Palace campaigns, but also in the Burberry one, lensed by his close collaborator Alasdair McLellan, proving once again how much Blondey embodies both the most classic and traditional English taste, as well as its most rebellious and alternative side. Blondey is an authentic and genuine representative of that skateboarding aesthetic very often abused and exploited by the fashion world, bringing back a style that goes beyond the most commercial hype. Well deserved, Blondey.
